Kevin reached out with a beautiful idea: an early morning, intimate proposal at Lake Kawaguchiko, with quiet surroundings, soft sunrise light, mist floating over the lake, and hopefully clear reflections of Fuji.


As a Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko photographer, I know this area like home. But every proposal is different, so I still arrived before dawn to scout fresh spots, check the light, and make sure everything was perfect.


And this morning in early November rewarded us.

The lake was calm.

The mist rolled gently across the water.

And Fuji appeared , clear, soft, peaceful and with its first snow cap of the season.

When everything aligned, I sent the message to Kevin: “It’s perfect. Bring Patricia to the spot.”


And right there, at sunrise, something magical happened , the reflection formed that beautiful diamond-shaped glow on the lake. It felt like the universe timed everything just for them.


Kevin went down on one knee.

Patricia said yes.

And the quiet morning turned into a memory they’ll carry forever.

After the proposal, we explored Oishi Park for their engagement photos — and honestly, it couldn’t have been more stunning.

The autumn colors were incredible too. The ginkgo trees glowed in yellow, and while the kochia bushes had already turned brown earlier this year, they still added emotion and depth to the photos — framing Fuji beautifully in the background.
